Itinerary

Day 1 – Labuan Bajo – Lembor – Todo Village – Ruteng

Morning:
Pick up from your hotel in Labuan Bajo. Begin the scenic drive eastward through Lembor Valley, the largest rice field area in West Manggarai. Enjoy a short photo stop before continuing to Todo Village, one of the oldest traditional settlements in the Manggarai region.

At Todo Village, explore traditional drum houses (mbaru niang), learn about the history of the Manggarai kings, and interact with locals to understand their cultural traditions.

Afternoon:
Enjoy lunch at a local home or warung. Continue the drive through rolling hills and coffee plantations toward Ruteng, a charming highland town known for its cool climate and surrounding natural beauty.

Dinner and overnight in Ruteng.

Day 2 – Ruteng – Liang Bua Cave – Ruteng City Tour

Morning:
After breakfast, drive north to Liang Bua Cave (about 45 minutes). Explore the archaeological site where the remains of Homo floresiensis — the “Hobbit of Flores” — were discovered.
Learn about the excavation and see where scientists uncovered evidence of this ancient human species that lived here around 50,000 years ago.

Afternoon:
Return to Ruteng for lunch at a local restaurant. Then enjoy a short city tour:
