Starting Point: Ende or Maumere, East Flores, Indonesia
Ending Point: Labuan Bajo, West Flores, Indonesia
DAY 1: Maumere – Moni Village (+/-100 KM) or Ende – Moni (+/-50 KM)
- Pick up from your accommodation or airport in Ende or Maumere.
- Begin the journey to Moni village, making stops at selected scenic spots along the way.
- Upon arrival, check in at your chosen accommodation.
DAY 2: Moni – Ende – Bajawa (+/-170 KM, +/-6.5 hours driving)
- Start early in the morning with a drive to Kelimutu Volcano. The drive takes about 1 hour, followed by a 45-minute trek from the parking area to the summit.
- Kelimutu’s tri-colored crater lakes, formed by volcanic eruptions, are one of the most mysterious and dramatic sights in the world.
- Located in the heart of Flores, these lakes frequently change colors due to mineral reactions. After taking in the breathtaking view, return to Moni for breakfast.
- Continue the journey to Bajawa, stopping at Wologai traditional village. Visit Panggajawa, known as the “Blue Stone Beach,” before heading to Bajawa. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation. In the afternoon, visit So’a Hot Springs for a relaxing bath.
DAY 3: Bajawa – Ruteng (+/-135 KM, +/-5 hours driving)
- After breakfast, visit the impressive traditional village of Bena, known for its well-preserved ancestral houses and megalithic structures.
- Continue the drive to Ruteng, stopping at Aimere Village along the south coast to observe the traditional process of making local alcoholic drinks from palm juice.
- Next, visit the natural crater lake of Rana Mese before heading to Ruteng Pu’u village to see traditional Manggarai houses. Check in at your chosen accommodation in Ruteng.
DAY 4: Ruteng – Labuan Bajo (+/-135 KM, +/-5 hours driving)
- After breakfast, depart for Labuan Bajo. Stop at Cancar Village to witness the unique Lodok rice fields, which resemble a giant spider’s web.
- Continue the journey to Labuan Bajo with several stops along the way for photos.
- Upon arrival, drop off at your chosen accommodation in Labuan Bajo.
