Route: Labuan Bajo → Waerebo → Ruteng → Bajawa → Moni → Kelimutu → Ende/Maumere

Day 1: Labuan Bajo – Denge – Waerebo

  • Denge Village → Starting point for the trek to Waerebo. A small Manggarai settlement where locals farm and live traditionally.

  • Waerebo Village → UNESCO-recognized traditional Manggarai village, famous for its Mbaru Niang conical houses. Hidden in the mountains (3-hour trek), it’s a living museum of culture, where guests can interact with locals, learn weaving, and stay overnight in the communal house.

Day 2: Waerebo – Cancar – Ruteng

  • Community interaction in Waerebo → Guests experience daily life: coffee roasting, weaving, farming, and storytelling from elders.

  • Trek back to Denge → Downhill through rainforest and mountain views.

  • Cancar Village – Spider Web Rice Fields (Lodok) → Ingenious traditional land system where fields radiate from a central point like a spider web. Symbolizes equal land distribution among clans.

  • Ruteng → A Catholic highland town with cooler climate. Known for monasteries, traditional markets, and as a base to explore western Flores.

Day 3: Ruteng – Ranamese – Aimere – Bajawa

  • Ranamese Lake → Crater lake surrounded by lush rainforest, rich in birdlife. Great for short nature walks.

  • Aimere Village → Center of arak (sopi) production, the traditional palm liquor distilled using bamboo tubes. Guests can see the process and taste it if they wish.

  • Bajawa → Highland town at the foot of Mount Inerie, known for Ngada culture and beautiful landscapes. Also famous for Bajawa coffee.

Day 4: Bajawa – Bena – Manu Lalu – Blue Stone Beach – Ebulobo Volcano – Wologai – Ndua Ria – Moni

  • Bena Village → Iconic Ngada traditional village with megalithic stones, ancestral shrines, and terraced houses facing Mount Inerie. A living cultural heritage site.

  • Manu Lalu Viewpoint → Panoramic lookout point over Bajawa’s hills, valleys, and mountains—ideal for photography.

  • Blue Stone Beach (Penggajawa) → Unique beach covered with turquoise and blue pebbles, naturally polished by waves. Locals collect and sell these stones.

  • Ebulobo Volcano → Active volcano with dramatic views. Visible from the roadside, it’s a striking natural landmark for photography.

  • Wologai Village → Traditional Lio tribe settlement with preserved houses, stone courtyards, and animist rituals still practiced.

  • Ndua Ria Market → Bustling local market with fresh produce, spices, betel nuts, and ikat textiles—perfect for authentic Flores souvenirs.

  • Moni Village → Peaceful mountain village, the main base to access Kelimutu National Park.

Day 5: Moni – Kelimutu – Ende/Maumere

  • Kelimutu National Park → Famous for its three crater lakes, each with different colors (blue, green, black, red, or white) that change over time due to mineral and volcanic activity. Best seen at sunrise. Considered sacred by locals as the resting place of ancestral souls.

  • Ende Town (if drop-off here) → Historical town, where Soekarno was exiled, with colorful markets and coastal views.

  • Maumere (if drop-off here) → Largest city in eastern Flores, known for beaches, Sikka Church, and weaving villages.
